A little pain for some pleasure.
Indeed a little pricey. I do however recommend trying the $9 fish taco appetizer. It's large enough for a meal and you won't get a better fish taco in the midwest. I always request a homemade salsa which usually consists of fresh tomatillos and jalepenos. Also ...the desserts are to die for! - Chicago Caroline , posted 01/05/05

mas is pretty good, and you pay for it in cost and health - from what a friend tells me who used to waitress there, everything on the menu is made with a healthy dose of pig grease. which is probobly why it tastes so good. seriously even the salad dressing including the vegetarian entree has it, which is what i ordered....and suffice it to say it was damn good. (but i wish i would have known why......)

unique style of "Nuevo Latino" cuisine
The cooking is very good, the service is impressive and nuevo Latino food, which is what Mas serves, is a hot cuisine in Chicago right now. It can get quite noisy, especially on weekend nights or after a few too many margaritas. But knowing that, go there for the people-watching and good grub. - david r. , posted 07/12/04
