Make a mojito
They are really tasty to make yrself especially now that its starting to get nice out in the midwest. So grab some buddies, a handle of Bacardi, a bunch a limes and some fresh mint. First make some sugar syrup which is done by mixing about 1 part hot (close to boiling) water with 1 part sugar. Let this cool off. It is best to prepare this ahead of time.
Once you have the sugar syrup take an appropriate amout 1/2-1 shot depending on yr taste in a glass. Mash up the mint leaves in the sugar syrup really well. Fill the glass with ice. Add rum, 1-3 shots is what I recommend, but I like to get wasted on my patio on those warm summer nights.
Cut a lime in half and squish it over the top and put what's left of the lime in the glass too. Then top it off with a splash of soda water and stir it up.
Now you should have a mojito.
Considering most bars I've seen charge around 7-8 for one of these this is a much better deal, and I think its a great drink for those days when yr just chilling on a patio with friends or listening to music and reading a book etc.
