Buddy Guys Legends is a blue lounge not far from the Loop in Chicago. My girlfriend and I went there on a Monday night for an open jam session hosted by Jimmy Burns. The setting is chill, ambient, with blues memorabilia decorating every surface, including old guitars used by the legends themselves. Drinks were decently priced. $6 pitchers. $3 bottles. The crowd was eclectic! 20 somethings to 60 somethings from all backgrounds and groups. The music was the real highlight. Explosive shredding lead guitarists, excellent mcees, talented vocalists. A rich, soulful throwback to western musics beginnings. If you dig good music, an easy, casual environment, and serious entertainment, check it out.
