SUSHI extraordinaire
Bistro Wasabi is the best sushi that I have tried in the Chicagoland area. There have been a couple who have compared, but none who have surpassed. I finally had some sushi in San Fransisco that was as good as Bistro's, but it was the first time in six years--not to mention that it's on the West Coast. They have unique rolls and a very eclectic twist on their menu, like the sashimi carpaccio. It's slices of raw yellowtail, tuna and salmon that surround a mound of micro greens and red onions, which is all marinated just before service with a signature oil/vinegar and spice combination. YUM! Their Spicy Tuna is some of the best as well as the Spicy Chirashi. Everything on the menu is great--cooked items too! They have a nice wine list, excellent saki and creative martinis. The drinks can get pretty pricey, especially the martini's. Good for a special night out or just to satisfy a craving. They are located on Route 62 in Lake-in-the Hills, south of Randall Road. Even if you are closer to the city or further south, it is worth the drive. - Melissa , posted 09/26/06
