Job Description: The Bank of New York Mellon is an important participant in the dynamic structured finance market of securitized transactions and a market leader in the fast growing collateralized debt obligation (CDO) product area. We are seeking a Trust Associate in Chicago, IL who will play the crucial role of maintaining analytical models used by CDO industry participants (ie. investment banks, portfolio managers, rating agencies, investors and insurers). You will be responsible for supporting client services by updating, modifying and testing complex financial models relied on by portfolio managers and institutional investors to make informed portfolio and investment decisions.
Responsibilities:
* Comprehend legal documents to establish Deal and Note Structure using in-house software application (SAM).
* Comprehend detailed programming instructions within the Markup (programming tool) to establish various aides to deal setup process.
* Establish and maintain excel based test matrix of customized test data for each model.
* Purchase test asset into each model and append descriptors to every test asset.
* Produce a Deal/Collateral Descriptor List customized for each deal for Client Service Managers (RMs) to manage the input of production data after deal has transitioned from Analytics.
Business Skills:
* Minimum one year of work experience with CLO's.
* Strong technical skills required.
* High proficiency with Microsoft software, especially Excel, required.
* Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills required.
* Exercises independent judgment and is multi-task oriented
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors in Business, or related, preferred.
